"Manatee Insanity" is a "lively account" of a "a complex story" about how law, politics and science have intersected in the debate over protecting manatees, according to the first newspaper review of the book, published today in the St. Petersburg Times.
The reviewer, Gregory McNamee, calls the book a "fine case study of just how difficult it is to reconcile contending individual interests to the greater good — in this case, a greater good that includes the interests of the animal kingdom."
